Lee Jones (Head of infrastructure) and Peter Dunbar (IBM i and Power Systems Manager) attended the Annual i-ug conference 2022 earlier this week.
The i-UG’s regional conference offered a perfect balance of education, information, and communication and provided a great opportunity for members to meet and network with colleagues, peers and other key industry experts.
The conference included a comprehensive educational programme covering the latest updates, business practices and solutions to the types of issues that IBM vendors, developers, and end users experience. The conference programme was hosted by a range of independent experts, including speakers from IBM, partners and also Mike Ryan (i-UG Chairman) who opened the conference with his welcoming speech.
‘It was a great event that detailed the new functionality, security and extensive open source features of version V7R5, and included industry experts who outlined the benefits and enhancements of the new Power10 range of hardware. Also, highlighted was the education programme that i-UG are working on with local schools, colleges and universities to bring in the next generation of developers into the IBM i marketplace.
